To contribute to the advancement of KAIST's research prowess by bringing together KAIST's space technology capabilities dispersed throughout the institute.
To establish a research system that builds upon SaTRec's traditional small satellite program by amalgamating core technological fields such as space health (biology), materials and components designed for in extreme space environments, mission design and policy, and deep space navigation.
To achieve these goals, KAIST will begin by establishing the Space Institute and its affiliated research institutes and centers.
Our Vision
The KAIST Space Institute will contribute to humanity's progress by striving to be the first to pioneer novel breakthroughs, pushing the frontiers of human exploration through innovative space research.
As the focal point of all space research being pursued at a world-class university like KAIST, we will bring about new paradigm shifts in space research and education.
The KAIST Space Institute will also help elevate Korea's innovative space technologies and industrial ecosystem by successfully completing challenging space missions and venturing into uncharted territory.
